The player becomes a member of a group of eight mercenaries crossing the oceans. Tactics and patience complement the fast-paced dogfights. Bonus objectives as well as hidden bonus weaponry guarantee each missions’ replayability. A gripping story, striking characters and the overwhelming architecture of the underwater world are framed by an ingenious user interface. AQUANOX 2: REVELATION chases the player through high-energy action and sinister underwater cities. But very soon he has to realize that he is not the only one hunting for his ancestor’s legendary treasure. He is looking for adventure – and finds greed, ruthlessness, merciless hatred … and also unexpected help. In 2666 a young freighter pilot called William Drake sets out to search for the heritage of a mythical ancestor. Plus, the final video hints something about "a merecenary, whose name you -the player- know" willing to kill them, in a "free" reference to who I thought it could be Emerald Flint himself.AQUANOX 2: REVELATION is a new story of the underwater world Aqua.

Since someone in the game talked about "another enemy besides the bionts" I was seeing a clear ending: The angel tears were some kind of mass destruction weapon to use against those monsters, and in the end it was activated, linking somehow the plot with Aquanox, but the game says nothing (Or, at least, I didn't understood the important parts), and leaves you with more questions than answers. Honestly, given the Aquanox 1ending, I was waiting for some reference to the somewhat Lovecraftian monster who got killed in the fusion plant on Neopolis at the first part ending. Just a frozen monster, a "now we are rich" and nothing more. Some archetypal characters and some "it could be told better" parts, and in the other hand an awesome background world, some interesting characters, and the final goal of the game, The Angel Tears, shinning on the end of the track.īut then I got to the end and. as I said, I finished it, halfway hooked with the story. Despite the lack of save options (Neither checkpoint, which HURTS in some of the lengthier missions) I've had a fine amount of fun playing it.

I just finished Aquanox 2, an overall fun title with an interesting approach to a "underwater combat" system.
